When you purchase something from this website, you are helping to change the lives of Mexican women and their families, allowing them to bring a reasonable income into their households.

The Mexican Women's Coopertiva Gallery is in existence today due to their former association with "Teach a Woman to Fish" (TAWF), an auxiliary project of Los Niños de Chapala y Ajijic A.C., Jalisco, Mexico. Mothers of children in the Ajijic and Chapala programs were taught to enhance their sewing skills and learned how to market them. Other women from outside the project have since joined the Coopertiva as it continues to move forward.

Now the women have spread their wings and have left the security of TAWF to begin a business of their own. They have applied for and been granted non-profit status and have opened a small gallery at Ramon Corona 11A in Ajijic, Jalisco, where they sell their work and operate the business themselves. Many of these women have never worked before and they certainly never thought having their own business was in their future.
